Thinking Kids

Raising Thinking Kids in an Unthinking World

About

We educate our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, to the glory of the Lord, in the joy of the Lord.  (Eph. 6:4, 1 Cor. 10:31, Phil. 2:14-15)

My name is Danika Cooley.  I love Scripture, history, science and theology.  Those are the things I write about for children.  For parents, my desire is to share great resources, and to encourage you in the task of intentionally raising children for the glory of the Lord.

I hold a degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Art from the University of Washington.  My background includes working with children with severe disabilities and volunteer teaching.  My children and I love visiting the zoo, the science museum, and the theater.  Hiking, nature walks, read-alouds, science experiments, and art projects are frequent activities in our home.

As a follower of Christ, a writer, a mother of four, a grandmother to one, and a home educator, my heart is to create quality material which points children to Jesus.  I hope to aid parents in their goal to disciple their children.

I dream of a generation of parents training small people in the way they should go.  I envision a tribe of children rising up to become men and women of God.

My goal is to help you, the parent, disciple your children ~ that we may all raise godly, thinking kids.  Our kids deserve the opportunity to fill their minds with information of value. While you and I may not agree on everything, perhaps we can find it beneficial to see life from another viewpoint. Come on into my library, hang out a while, and share your thoughts on raising children of substance.

While you’re here, be sure to take a look at Bible Road Trip ~ A 3 Year Bible Survey.  The curriculum is free and printable, aimed at grades 1-12, and ready for you to use.
